BRUCE BANMAN LAUNCHES LEADERSHIP CAMPAIGN FOR CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF BC

Conservative Without Apology campaign highlights record of standing up on issues others avoid

ABBOTSFORD, B.C.: Bruce Banman has officially launched his campaign for leader of the Conservative Party of BC and Premier of British Columbia, positioning himself as the candidate willing to confront the issues the BC NDP refuses to address and too many politicians are afraid to touch.

Banman’s Conservative Without Apology campaign launch was marked by the release of a new video outlining his record of action on parental rights, freedom of speech, and accountability in government. The launch video is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOKs-_FmSLQ

“British Columbians are tired of leaders who talk around the problems instead of taking them head on,” said Banman. “I’ve never been afraid to stand up for parents, free speech, or common sense. And I won’t start now.”

Banman has built a reputation in the Legislature for raising issues the BC NDP would rather suppress. His first question as a Conservative MLA called out the NDP for allowing deeply inappropriate books in BC schools. Bruce has publicly called for the repeal of SOGI 123, defends freedom of speech and religion, and will scrap ICBC’s no-fault insurance scheme, which strips accident victims of their right to fair compensation.

“When parents raised concerns about inappropriate materials in classrooms, the NDP dismissed them. I didn’t. I held the government accountable and because of that, the Conservatives’ popularity grew,” said Banman. “I used my very first question as a Conservative MLA to raise those concerns, and I later called for the full repeal of SOGI 123 because parents deserve transparency and a real say in their children’s education.”

Banman has also been outspoken in defending freedom of speech, even when doing so came at political cost.

“I’ve stood in the Legislature and said things the NDP tried to shut down, and I kept speaking anyway,” he said. “If we don’t defend free expression in our own institutions, we lose it everywhere else.”

On ICBC, Banman has been a consistent critic of the NDP’s no-fault insurance model, arguing it prioritizes government cost savings over justice for injured British Columbians.

“The NDP took away people’s legal rights and called it reform,” said Banman. “I believe British Columbians deserve accountability, fairness, and a system that works for victims, not bureaucrats.”

Banman’s leadership campaign is rooted in the belief that the Conservative Party of BC must be principled, disciplined, and unafraid to govern according to its values.

“This is about more than winning a leadership race,” Banman said. “It’s about building a party that tells the truth, stands up for families, and offers British Columbians a real alternative to the NDP’s ideology and failure.”
